ECS4BIH Seminar 1 Announcement

ECS4BIH Hosts a Seminar on Digital Identity Protection and EU Cybersecurity Frameworks

On May 20, 2026, the ECS4BIH Jean Monnet Module hosted a seminar titled “Digital Identity Protection: EU Frameworks and Technical Controls” at the International University of Sarajevo.

Delivered by Adnan Švraka from Fortinet, also an ECS4BIH team member, the session explored how EU cybersecurity frameworks connect with practical measures for protecting digital identities. Topics included eIDAS, GDPR and NIS2, alongside phishing prevention, multi-factor authentication (MFA), identity and access management (IAM), Zero Trust, SIEM monitoring and incident response.

Participants from academia, industry and the public sector took part in an interactive tabletop exercise focused on realistic digital identity incidents in EU-regulated environments. The exercise encouraged participants to apply the concepts discussed and consider responses to identity-related threats.

The event supported ECS4BIH’s mission of connecting European cybersecurity knowledge with higher education and practical application in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ECS4BIH Jean Monnet Module is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
